I offer online individual tuition to students from the age of 7. The lessons are multisensory and engaging. Students will require a small whiteboard, pen and wooden alphabet letters along with pencil and paper. We follow a typical structured course of learning appropriate for dyslexic individuals or those with literacy difficulties. Lessons typically take place once a week for an hour but this can be dependent upon the student. Homework, in the form of a game or activity, can be given tp reinforce skills. We follow a typical structured course of learning appropriate for  students with dyscalculia  or those with maths difficulties. Lessons typically take place once a week for an hour but this can be dependent upon the student. Homework, in the form of a game or activity, can be given to reinforce skills. This is dependent upon the students needs and abilities.

Small group tuition sessions accommodate 6 children. The sessions aim to improve student's reading, writing and spelling skills using multisensory and engaging lessons. Students will need a set of wooden letters, a white board and pen and a set of blank playing cards. During the first six week block we will cover the following: setting out the alphabet arc, vowels and consonants, syllable division for spelling and reading, long and short vowel sounds, comprehension strategies and basic punctuation. Students will be given a task to complete at home in the form of a game or activity to consolidate learning.

Each session will incluse some of the following:

• alphabet arc or alphabet game

• memory work

• revision from previous week

• new learning point (spelling, punctuation, reading or writing)

• word cards

• spelling 

• reading

• home activity

Small group tuition sessions accommodate 6 children. The sessions aim to improve student's understanding of number, recognise number patterns and recall key number bonds. Students will need a set of wooden numbers, a white board and pen and a set of blank playing cards. The course will focus on identifying number patterns and learning about place value. Where possible, it will follow a concrete, pictorial, abstract approach and will include the use of  base ten blocks and cuisinaire rods. Students are encouraged to acquire these to use during and after the lesson. Students will be given a task to complete at home in the form of a game or activity to  consolidate learning.

I offer IGCSE/GCSE in maths and English for students with dyslexia or other learning difficulties. The lessons also teach study and revision skills with plenty of opportunities for overlearning.
